about me
Masti Adler, massage therapist, massage teacher, massage courses, gestalt therapy, somatic psychotherapy

I have been involved in the massage industry since 1984 when I completed my Diploma in Remedial Massage in Germany.

I have studied different techniques like Rebalancing, Psychic massage, Ayurvedic Yoga massage, Trager etc. with excellent teachers in America, India, Germany and Australia and worked in physiotherapy clinics, spas, corporate massage and 5 star hotels in Sydney. I have had my own practice in the Byron shire since 1991.

This extensive and varied experience in massage, such as remedial focus, psychologically orientated bodywork, relaxation and recreation as well as corporate massage has made diagnosis, techniques, client rapport, handling difficult situations and the use of intuition and sensitivity solid resources.

I started teaching in 2003 and am now the senior teacher in the Diploma course for Holistic health in Byron Bay and also teach part of the Diploma course at Massage Schools of Queensland. I have been developing and teaching my own weekend courses for the last 7 years and have a had excellent feedback, a big percentage of my students keep coming back over the years to study different modalities with me.

I am passionate about wholistic bodywork and love teaching, experiencing great pleasure from seeing people develop their skills and achieve their goals in becoming good body-workers. My teaching style reflects the wholistic approach, giving students solid techniques as well as supporting their sensitivity and intuition to connect to the depth and individual needs of their clients and develop their own style. My emphasis is on giving as much ‘hands-on’ time as possible coupled with a solid underpinning of the theoretical knowledge needed to give a safe, effective, pleasant and memorable massage.

I am also a psychotherapist, using a Gestalt therapy approach and am specialised in Somatic Psychotherapy and Couple therapy. My psychotherapy background adds another dimension to the style of massage and bodywork I teach.
